Learn About The Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum

Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum is Michigan’s newest Museum in Detroit, not too far from Warren, Michigan. The Museum tells the story of Detroit’s important role in the Arsenal of Democracy during World War II when the city was home to a significant tank production facility. The Museum also highlights Detroit’s contributions to the war effort by producing airplanes and other military equipment.

The Museum is open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 4 pm on weekends. Admission is free for all visitors.

Exhibits:

The Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum features several exhibits, including “The Arsenal of Democracy: Detroit and the Second World War,” ” Detroit and the Great War,” and “The Home Front.” The Museum also has a rotating exhibit called ” Detroit: Then and Now,” which focuses on the city’s history and evolution.

Vehicles:

The Museum houses an extensive collection, including tanks and jeeps from World War II. The vehicles are all loaned by the historical society to help teach visitors about life during this period in America’s history!

Educational Programs:

It is centered on education. From the earliest days, they focused on encouraging people to learn more about their country’s history and how it tied into what was happening elsewhere in America during this period. With many different programs for all ages, some lessons can teach kids everything from basic literacy skills like reading or writing words correctly using correct grammar to analytical thinking abilities such as math concepts including numbers 0 – 9 and basic operations. It also offers a FREE Detroit and World War II Teacher’s Guide for use in the classroom or at home.
